Hey, i bought a sansamp gt-2 so i could fool around with barebones recording and aid in the composition process, as i've been writing stuff with multiple guitar parts/harmonies/etc, but as i've been fooling around, i've gotten discouraged because the quality of the recordings (though fine just for composing purposes) just ....well, it just doesn't do justice to the songs, as everything is muddy (multiple parts) and the guitar tone is terrible. So anyway, i've been getting frustrated, so i was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions for getting the best possible recording out of just a sansamp gt-2 going straight into a stock (riptide i think) sound card, and into n-track. i'm really not concerned about finding a tone that i like, or my own 'sound' at all. I just want a decent sounding recording so i can clearly hear all parts of my songs. If anyone can give me any specific help as to how i can get a good recording, i'd really appreciate it! Style of music is more or less heavy metal, so any heavy metal type sound will do. Thanks!
