very nice!!!! Not much to add, but I liked it too.. The sound is excellent! great instrumentation and melody.. Is there any auto tune being used? Like @2:30? nice guitar! good listen Ped! I thought some of the vocals around the 3 minute mark got too loud.. That's about all I can complain about though..

Autotune, moi? Are you insane, B.SABBATH? Haven't you read my rants? :D

No, Edgar's sense of pitch is just plain perfect. It's quite sickening actually :)

About the loud vocals at the end: glad you say that! I was waiting for someone to say it, as I thought it was a tad loud too. I used a 'telephone filter' and a distortion to make it appear as loud as it sounded in my room (he was standing in de corner of the room, the mic a couple of feet away  ) but I slightly overdid it. It's not that it's exactly too loud, it's the mids that sound a little annoying.

Doug H, James Argo, JMarcomb, jake-owa: thanks a lot! Nice to be hated... :D

(and JMarcomb...you americans really think Europe is the size of Connecticut don't ya? ;) )

Excellent Pedd man-I like it! Nice chord progressions-cool sounds nice vocal work, good groove going on. I really don't here much wrong with this mix-wise, though I wish the bass were louder and more punchy-also the vocal "solo" at the end was a little loud, kinda covering up the music. Other than that you have another winner here-I havent heard anything from you that I don't like-you got the touch my man!

Damn you Stratomaster....now I'm wondering whether I should rerecord the basspart (I overcompressed it during recording and now I'm stuck with it)

And I felt pretty happy about it! :D

Well, whatever. Thanks anyway!

Btw, TripleM: I fixed the gap at 0:18. But I can't fix the pop at :33 somehow. It's not a pop, it's something vague. When I play the tracks individually I don't hear it. It's only when they're mixed together. I can't extract the friggin' track that's causing it. Beh!

Sounds great man, nice harmonies, cool bassline, overall a good job.

(Misschien moet je toch ook maar eens uitleggen wet 'ik ben een lul' betekent! ;))

I'm checking out the rest of your songs right now!

Hey, that sounds like Soft Machine when it opens! Wonderful. Really good song. You do very good stuff.

As for the drums: they need more balls, don't they? It's an ace drum part. There's a bit too much distance between the vocals and the drums perhaps. It's a rock song. Rock songs are all about big drums, right? :D They sound fine in the intro, but then get more and more lost as the song gets louder and louder.

Damn, now it's reminding me of Zappa! You excelled on this one.

Who did that killer guitar break? You?

Hm, Zappa....never thought of that...I am a huge fan (as is Edgar), that's true.

Who did that killer guitar break? You?

Who else? ;) I'm still a one man band, with occasional help from friends...anyway thanks for listening and kind words Dobro!

About the drums: I can't see it as a rock tune really, only the end perhaps. I don't think a big ass 80s sound would fit. I would like to hear a fatter snare, though. I'm still noodling around with my multiband compressor. Who knows what happens...

I need to check out Soft Machine! :D

solid mix......everything sounds pretty solid from my end........nice bass and keys vibe going on

Nice...

Opening has a Radiohead sorta feel to it. I'm a big Radiohead fan actually.

Terrific vocal delivery...smooth as always.

One little nit. That free-style vocal toward the end. Did you consider pushing it to the side a little...40-50%? For some reason it seems to devour everything around it. It's not the level, it's the position on the stage I think. That's pretty much it for now.

Outstanding work as always. And I like your style of "pop" as you call it. It never really seems to feel like prostitution.

Funky.

Interesting language, Very interesting tune. Reminds me a bit of Gentle Giant in spots.

Has a 70's feel to it, I like that.

Great Job.

I'm headed out to a gig so I can't take a lot of time to really listen hard but I can tell you this.....this is a really fine bit of recording and singing and playing and....and....gotta go gig but I want to play on something like this. PM me and we'll talk.

I'll listen and critique deeper later.

Well, Its still got a dry midi sound to It esp in the beginning but it sure grows on you when it fills in:)
Very nice job. real nice guitar sound/playing, bass could use a little more upfrontness. Vocals had a nice sound as well. Overall a very good song to me:)

Peace
Bill

powderfinger - Thanks! :D

SLuiCe - Thanks again! Radiohead is great, indeed. And I agree 100% with the nit pick! Working on it as we speak...

Emeric - Thank you too! I can't imagine how weird it must sound for you english speaking people. But it's great you all don't seem to mind.

Lt. Bob - (I'll stop thanking for a moment, OK?) I'd love to collaborate with you. If I ever need a sax I'll PM you, OK? Thanks for the offer!

wfaraoni - Bass will be better on the next (final?) mix, I promise. Right now it sounds pretty good on good headphones but kinda gets lost in the mix when listening to it on speakers.

People, you make me happy. I almost lost interest in this song, because I couldn't get it right with the mix and all. But you've revived my warm feelings for it! :D

Very cool tune Ped.

Vocals were excellent, and I dig the wah guitar, nice playing.
I agree the drums need a little more low end.

How did you do the haunting notes in the backround, guitar with a little knob turning?:D
Almost sounds like a steel, good touch.

Can you post the lyrics in english,I would very much like to read them.

A fine piece of work,I really enjoyed it,
Pete

BTW-I liked your other picture better, the one where you look like you just lost your puppy.:D:D

1. That's a (slightly overcompressed) clean guitar with a pitch shifter (one octave up, low in the mix), lots of reverb and a volume pedal.

2. No, I can't. They're too weird to translate. Also, if I did translate them here, nobody would like the song anymore...

3. Thank you! :D

4. Well, this is the Backstreet Boy look that sickens my wife...get used to it! :)

I knew I'd seen that look before,you go dude!:D

Very smooth and well recorded Love the bass playing.

Excellent vocal, especially the harmonies and the bit from 2:54 on.

Guitar playing nice - maybe a tiny bit more edge on the sound?

Agree the drum sound could be bigger, but the playing is good.

Good stuff.

Man, How did this slip by me!

Mr. Bean!! er.... I mean Trojka!!

Absolutely stunning! Great tune, super instrumental entrances, your pedulla and playing of it slayed me on this one!

The compositional structure, layering, arranging and emotional content along with Edgar's flawless delivery make put it into my favorite playlist. It is so tight and FUNKY! 5 stars.

The drums could be a lot phatter.

Look forward to to final mix.
Ralph

very nice Ped. I like the structure and the groove that runs thru the tune. That dirty rhodes reminded me off an old reed Wurlitzer kinda. Cool sound. Guitar was twisted :) Anything else the folks already told you. The Ped sounds really full and round, nice touch.

alibish: Thanks! Do you mean adding more edge to the guitarsound in the verses (reverbing vagueness) or in the last chorus? (wah'd distortion)

flat-9: Glad you like! Means a lot, coming from you (always ashamed of my ' lefthanded-four-fingered-I'm-so-glad-there-are-computers-to-help-me' keyboard playing, especially when real masters like you are around ;) ) Thanks a lot! I hope I can make the drums fatter, but I doubt whether I can pull it off. Everybody thinks it should be fatter, but no one has an idea HOW! Argh! :D

Toki987: Aw man, Toki! You're always so nice to me and my music, yet I ALWAYS SEEM TO FORGET TO CHECK OUT YOUR MUSIC!!! *pats himself on the head 15 times* I'm so sorry, man! I'll download some tonight, ok? :) Any suggestions what (and where)? Anyway, thanks for your words.

Thanks people!
