hey guys... the newest thing to come out my studio is a christian rock band that actually is pretty good.
no song comments please, it's not my band and i know it sounds like green day.

looking for the harshest comments on the mix you can possibly come up with on how this could be BETTER.
it's my best work so far, and i'm always working to improve my technique... wondering what you think i could be doing.

thanks!

edit - please RIGHT CLICK - SAVE AS... then run from your computer.
this will help me in terms of bandwidth, cause the last time i did this i nearly ran out my server's limit.

super tight

Well yes...definately a green day riff...almost identical for the verse!! But thats about all that is similiar I'd say...
the mix sounds super tight...I mean...REALLY tight...almost too perfect if thats possible...lots of cool noises and effects in there as well...
The only thing I could possibly say (being a sorta drummer) would be to somehow make the snare a bit more alive...maybe check some of the green day songs...the snare seems like it needs to jump out a bit more....but hey...my ears are fried...so I could be all wet on this....really nice mix job though...

Hey, that progression sounds exactly like Gree... oh.

Not much I can pick apart here in the mix. What's the setup?

sounds verrry nice, aside from the distortion of the guitar, but thats just according to my taste.

can you put up how the song sounded w/out any mixing?

also, what was ur setup?

I can't stand the riff...the mix and recording are fine but that riff...

The vocalist has a thin voice and a kinda weak style in my opinion.

I spend my time trying to come up with something new. I guess some people don't have those hangups though.

Doubt you'll see this (because of the "bump" date...) but I listened to this a little last night, and again now...

The recording is pristine. The riff is similar to "Brain Stew" but not exact... it's not a downward chromatic scale...

This song sounds like Filter "Hey Man, Nice Shot" or something...

The guitars are pretty interesting .... but they do sound PODded or J-Stationed... they could use some room sound on 'em.

The singer's talented enough... drums sound good. Can appreciate the effort put into the arrangement so that it's not exactly like the radio, anyway.

The feedback gtr/e-bow/solo stuff should come up some, IMO... there's also a small conflict between kick & bass... but much less than in your avg home recording mix.

BTW -- STILL listen to "BOMB"... that there's a clever song ya got there. Reminds me of cat-eggs' stuff, if he ever lost his sense of humor (and found an electric guitar)
