I've been using Vegas Video 2.0 with the m-Audio Omni Studio & Delta 66 sound card for six months. Recently, I've noticed that I just cannot record a clean signal every time. I'm getting crackles or pops in the recorded audio. It seems like I only get a usuable track about every fifth take. I know it's not the levels because I'm not overdriving the Omni's mike pre-amps and my signal indicators on Vegas peak out between -8 and -6 dbs. Anyone else run into this problem? Could it be the drivers? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but experienced the same problem. It really sucks when I've got a great performance but no usuable track. Thanks!

The connections are good. This problem only occurrs after I've attempted a first take. On the first take, I get a clean signal. On subsequent takes, I get a "static" sound but only during the audio. This "static" doesn't occur when there is silence on the track to which I am recording, i.e., on a vocal track, I only get the static when singing but there is no static during the silent portions (and the mic is still open). If I close Vegas, reopen it and then try another take, I get a clean first take and then every subsequent take is "dirty." It's driving me nuts.

Twincop,
We are seeing identical problems! I just happen to see your posting.

I also have Vegas 2.0 and a Delta 66 card, no omni, all recently purchased. I am experimenting with cable lenghts and positioning etc, but no luck. I am using TS(mono) type 1/4" cables to go from my mixer to delta break out box hw in. I am wondering if that has to be balanced, although I am running only 4-5 ft. I must say, first few trial recordings I did, the jitter noise was not there. Now it is there pretty consistent!

Yes, it is driving me crazy also. Let me know if you find any answers.
