I just picked up a v amp pro off ebay for doing some direct recording. My question is do I connect it to my firepod using the spdif jacks or with the analog output jacks? I saw a hookup diagram with the spdif hookup but this is new to me and I don't know if I have to do any setting changes in either unit for this to work.

If you want the v-amp to do the a/d conversion, use s/pdif. If you want the firepod to do it, us the analog outs

So that's the only difference? I was thinking of going from the spdif on the vamp also because it would only be one cord as the analog outputs are one left and one right and I figured I'd have to run two analog lines out
Thanks for the response

S/PDIF works great with the V-AMP pro, when hooking it up that way you will need to synch up the V-AMP Pro's clock with your firepod. You set that up in the M-Audio delta software...

I believe you could just run the left output into the firepod into one of the inputs on the firepod. This will be a mono signal but for guitar that really shouldnt be a problem...maybe I am wrong...I am planning on getting a V amp pro within the next couple months. If only I had money...
