hey...

im just curious how to go about using multiple soundcards to record, in particular using an audigy2 and soon-to-be-acquired audiophile 2496. can it be done? has anyone had any experience doing this? i want to use as many inputs as possible and need to know if cool edit can handle multiple soundcards.

thanks very much in advance!

I was going to do something like what you have planned, and I was given the following advice:

Synch problems can be a real headache if the cards do not share a clock. -That is the cards will drift off eachother and your recordings will be slightly out of synch.

So if you don't have a way to synch the cards, you might want to think about acquiring a different card.

M-Audio DOes it!

If you got a couple of M-Audio Cards (AudioPhile 24/96 and other delta's) they digitaly sync!
SO no card problems.

Oh and you can do that with echo sound cards too......
I prefer echo!

Hey!

I tried to record with 3 cards simultaneously. I had fortisimo, live player and the card that is integrated on motherboard. I got a great results. One mic in bas drum, one on the snare and one 6 feet (2m) above the kit.
But I also borowed 3 great mics, SM57, SM58 and D112.

Try it yourself!
