So my objective right now is to expand my setup in order to be able to record drums. Currently I have a m-audio Firewire 1814 interface and I've got my eyes on a Mackie 1402-VLZ3 mixer. I'm pretty sure I i have an understanding on how I can plug it into my interface, but upon looking at the hookup diagrams and manuals from the mackie site, I can't seem to see exactly how I would send the mic signals from the 1402-VLZ3 into my firewire1814.

Am I completely hopeless or am I not looking hard enough? Maybe somewhere in between, I hope.

I have whipped up a masterpiece of a diagram so that maybe someone can justconnect the dots for me, if you will.

I've also supplied in the diagram a shot of the back of the mixer, I am not sure if any ports on the back of the mixer come into play at all so I just added it to the diagram in case it is needed.

I really appreciate the patience of the users on this board, as well as the quickness people reply here. Thanks!

What you want to do is use a t/s plug into the inserts in the back. Plug them in halfway (one click) to get yourself direct outs to route to your interface.
