Question-

My studio is a spare bedroom with carpet and no acoustic treatment. I only have a auralux mudgaurd on my vocal mic, thats it.

Anyway, here is my question. They are installing air conditioning in the gym at my work (im a teacher) and they are gonna remove and throw away about 30 of the panels that hang from the ceiling that reduce the echo in the gym. they are the white vinyl covered fiberglass panels. The same ones are on the wall in the band room at my school. they look like the ones on this website, but im not sure if they are the exact product. (controlnoise.com/soundproofing-a-gymnasium)

I'm wondering if I should grab them before they throw them away and if they would have any benefit in treating my untreated room?

Thanks for your opinions,
jd

Yes, grab them. the only issue that you may run across is the vinyl might be reflective, but you could certainly use the insides to make traps with. That is a ton of free fiberglass, take it all.
