I was trying to write midi drum parts using the virtual keyboard on Reaper, and then run it through EZ Drummer (as i'm sick of the in built groves). However, the drums/cymbal names do not appear when trying to write midi parts.

I heard there were plug-ins you can download that will give you the track names..... is this true?

Thanks

I'm running reaper and ezdrummer on my laptop. I just want to lay some drum tracks down. But I'm not sure where the I/O should be pointing to. Plus when I do figure out where they should be, I get the drum sounds and some keyboard type sounds also ? Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Hi Lo-Fi

I tried the link you gave me. The link at the bottom of that thread is broken. I also tried the one further up, the Reaper Stash one and downloaded - ezx drum maps.rar I don't know if that is the correct one for the standard EZDrummer. If so, what do I do with the file so that Reaper will apply these drum names to the midi keys?

Thanks

Another option?

Hi Chilli

Would it be possible to download the drum maps for Cubase (I got LE free with my interface) and write my drum tracks on that, and import them into Reaper when i'm finished?

I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like it would work. You'll have to experiment. Let us know how it turns out.

peace.

EzDrummer's drum map is pretty standard for me. There are lots of extras above and below the normal range but I don't pay much attention to that stuff.

I don't see the problem..I open EZ in reaper and it gives me all the separate tracks, I rename them and its done!
I play the kit on a midi keyboard!!
