Using External Effects with Mbox 2

Hey guys, I am using a digidesign mbox 2 with ableton live 9 suite. I want to start adding external effects to my tool set (I do everything inside the box right now). My only question is.. can I use the S/PDIF output while connected via USB? The only outputs I can select or 1/2, 1 and 2 which are for monitors so when I route the audio back in it creates a feedback loop. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

Hi,
You might need to take a look at your I/O settings in abelton. I'm not familiar with ableton but I'm pretty sure the SPDIF I/O should be available to you.

Incase you've never used spdif, it's a stereo digital format. Your outboard gear will need to be equipped with, at least, spdif input.
