Using a Mic Preamp as DI box??

I heard some folks used an ART preamp to record their el. bass kinda like a DI box..
can that also be done when you use an el guitar and you want the clean signal to be recorded ...

are will you run in to impedance troubles when going that way ?

It should probably work ok as a DI for guitar.

If the preamp has a high-z instrument input, it *is* a DI box. I use both the Avalon and Joemeek in that role.-Richie

I don't think the VX2000 has a hi-z input

So a DI-box will do the trick then ?
