Hi. I am about to buy a behringer 802a for my tascam porta 02. Does anybody know the good and bad things about doing this? And if you have used to 802a with the porta 02, please give me some advice. Or even if you have used any mixer with the porta 02. Thank you.

Search this site for the keyword behringer and you'll get all the info you need...

I've used the 802a with my Tascam 424 portastudio. Have had no problems. What kind of advice are you looking for? One thing, the preamps are a helluva lot better than the standard ones in the 424. I'm able to get a hotter signal while at the same time reducing 'noise' by adjusting the gain and level pots on each channel and the main mix level as well.

If i pan a signal to a side on the mixer, will it record on my 4-track on the side i panned it to on the mixer?

I think so. I just usually make sure the pan on the portastudio is in the same position as the pan on the mixer's corresponding channel and that usually works fine.

No, no, no. Each track on the 4-track is a mono channel. It is only during playback that you can place those mono signals somewhere in the stereo mix.

I couldnt find anything on a search so could you tell me if the mixer would be good if i wanted to record a drumset through the mixer to my 4-track?
