Never Act Like U Know All
OK. Heres one for ya. Im tired of VST eating up my memory.
The way I do my music is, lay all of my instruments out seperate, and all of my drums out seperate.
Example. I have a Roland JV-1080, JD-990, JV-90, Korg Triton Rack, Yamaha TG-500, TG-77, FB-01, and a S-80. I'll use various sounds from the modules linked through a Unitor8. When I get a Midi track down perfect, I convert it right away to a audio track.
Well, that tends to eat alot of memory up. I have 512 meg ram, and a P3-500, Its not that my computer isn't up to supporting all of those audio tracks and midi tracks, Its WinDoze 98. I just found out that WinDoze 98 supports only up to 196 meg of ram. Anything past that, it doesnt use.
The solution: upgrade to windows 2000 which supports up to 1gig of ram, but Im actually thinking about building another computer. Use one for audio ONLY and another for MIDI only.
Whats yalls opinions?
