Jack Russell

I smell home cookin!
I'm a bassist, and I know nothing about what drums cost. However, I'm thinking about buying this used kit from a friend:

So, what do you think is a good price for this whole shebang? These are all used pieces, and it has been collected over the years from various brands.

Here's a list of some of the stuff:
Drums: yamaha tour series drumset circa '85. diameters 8", 10", 12", 14", 22". 14x5.5" ludwig snare, 10" pacific mini snare, 14x5.5" tama snare.
Cymbals: paiste cymbals: 14" sound formula medium heavy hi hats, 20" RUDE ride/crash, 20" 404 ride, 18" signature mellow crash, 18" 404 medium,18" rude china type, 16" sound formula thin crash, 16" 2002 medium, 16" 404 thin crash, 16" wuhan china type , 14" alpha thin crash, 14" 404 bottom hi-hat (used as a crash), 13" cut down 2002 crash, 13" cut down (unevenly) ludwig/paiste paper thin, 12" 802 splash, 12" paper thin nickel silver splash, 10" rude splash, 8" accent, 8" cup chime, 8" gong, 4" accent.

The hardware is a mixed bag, but it all seems very sturdy and massive. Also HEAVY to carry around!

I have no real idea, but hope someone can help ya...looks like it could be a cool setup...:D

I figured. But why is it (the head) funny to you?

It has that huge hole in the front and then the smaller one above it. One 4-6 inch hole is fine for a mic or whatever. It doesn't really affect the head. That huge hole though pretty much renders the head useless. It may as well have no front head at all.

Let me add though that it's no big deal. The head can easily be replaced or you could just keep it on there. It doesn't really make the kit worth any less unless you factor in a few bucks for a new head.

Aha! Thanks.

If I bought the kit I'd have two holes in my head rather than one. hahaha.:D

lol! yeah, that res head is like the string bikini of drum heads!

you're looking at a couple grand or more in cymbals alone (purchased new, that is). the kit is practically an afterthought, not to mention a couple extra snares. and those pdp mini snares sound fantastic for the price!!!

i agree with rez. i'd probably start close to $1000, but if you got the whole kaboodle for $1500 you'd still be getting a hell of a deal.
