Hey peeps, to start off with dont fire right away, Ive already done my research and came with nothing. Im going to buy a audio interface to go along with my soon to be mic. I already have a edirol pcr(midi) that can directly connect to my usb port. Thats fine, but when I use my interface I wont have room for anything like an external hard drive, flash drive or wireless mouse. What do i do to not only have enough ports, but have the lowest possible latency??? I was thinking a usb hub but didnt know if this would affect my music in any way(hip hop). Please give me some options here. Fyi im using a g4 ibook with a 1.33 ghz proc and 1gig of ram. 10.4 :( Please also let me know if this will have anything to do with it.

connecting HDD and audio interface through one USB hub will not affect the latency because of hub usage, but slightly because of possible higher CPU load.
however in cases of simultaneous recording and extensive use of USB HDD you may get signal interruptions. i don't suppose any problems while recording music through USB audio interface directly to USB HDD.

That's probably because he knew the answer, and everyone else wasn't sure enough and didn't want to steer you in a poor direction :)
