Is it mainly that the cause of US122's not working or causing crashes etc, mainly to do with XP and Service Pack 2? I understand their are other things that apparently cause crashes, such as plugging in other USB devices, having lots of things running etc, but is XP with service pack 2 the main problem? would be great help on my decision to buy one, thanks alot :D

I have not experienced any of those problems yet with mine, but the only USB devices I am running are a mouse and my ipod update wire.

I have XP and SP2. Never had a problem with my US122. I like it a lot.

XP, but with SP1 here,,, i use a US122, and it performs flawlessly.

It would be good

...to post your hardware set-up when you have problems like this. I run LE with no problems under XP SP2.

Thanks for playing!

It's a good interface with XP.

The only time I had any problem with mine was when I was trying to run it along side another soundcard to use the combined multiple inputs. Tried it on two different computers with two different "second" soundcards and it crashed each system each time after a couple minutes.

But it's not designed for that, and that's no bad reflection on the US122, which BTW works flawlessly otherwise. I use it when I need a quick and easy mobile input w/my laptop.

Did your data "disappear" when it crashed?? was your dryer running at the same time?

So, - does the world add noise - even to a Tascam US122?

Hey Coolcat! That thread had some of the funniest writing I think I've ever read. Seriously though, what do you think the equation under my username refers to?  My dryer's been running almost continually since the 4th dimension thread went over the top and faded away.

And now that you mention it, yes it WAS running during BOTH crashes. Perhaps the field of dimensional effect reached a greater distance from the rotating drum than my calculations had projected.
