US 1641 Recording latency issues

I'm running my US-1641 in sonar 6 studio. When I record with WDM drivers at any latency setting, my recordings all have to be nudged to put them back on time. I've finally got it recording with out latency, by switching to ASIO drivers with a latency of 5.3ms but now with my computer at idle sonar reports a CPU usage of 30% and upwards. I tried ASIO4all drivers and that dropped CPU usage but added pops and clicks at almost all latency settings. Is any one else having problems with this unit? Tascams support was pretty much useless he just told me that my motherboard chipset might not be compatible..... any help would be appreciated.

AMD Athlon 64 4000+
3 Gigs of RAM
Windows vista basic (32 bit)
SATA 2 80 Gig HDD
IDE ATA100 160GB HDD
Sonar Studio 6.2.1

two things... first i would use the tascam drivers... second look fror a setting in the preference section of the prog that says something to the effect use system time stamp... it's probably not ticked and should be...
