us-122 only recording onto one channel

While using cubase or cool edit, my 122 will only record onto the left channel of the track. I just have one mic plugged into the Mic In (L). If I plug a second mic into the (R) Mic In, the right channel will pick up that mic. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to record both the left and right channels with one mic. Thanks.

Unless you're using a stereo microphone (unlikely), then there is no need to record to a stereo track in your software. Select a mono track in the software and flip the MONO switch on the US-122 to "ON." The mono track should play back equally on the left and right channels, regardless of which input (Left or Right) you input on the US-122.
