Urgently need Audiophile help!..please

Hi..just got my new Audiophile card today and am having a bit of trouble. Installed fine, drivers on fine. What i have done so far-

I've Hooked cables from the left and right outs of the soundcard to the tape-in on the mixer. Just doing this first so i can hear something. I've set windows to use the Audiophile as its sound source. After a bit of playing i got the level bars in the AP mixer to show sound..in the red. But still no sound. A bit more playing later..seriously dont know what i did..but i get really quiet and muddy sound.

In the patchbay/router section i have wavOut 1/2 selected. Any ideas? I'm looking at it and it should be dead simple. 2 rca's from the output to the tape-in on the mixer..whats wrong with that? I have no other inputs on the mixer to use. Why so quiet and muddled? I also tried going from the tape-out to the AP ins and didnt read any sound.

Please help!

hmmm
did you check to make sure the buttons at the bottom arent muted?
and are the outs and ins corresponding to the inputs/outs on the card??

One thing to always start with is to isolate the problem. is it the mixer or the computer? Are you sure?
Try plugging in a known tape deck or cd player to the same inputs on the mixer as your computer was using (using the same wires if possible)
What kind of mixer? on some mixers (mackie and beringer for sure) you have to push a button that you have probabably never pushed before to activate the TAPE IN jacks. If you have more inputs, get some 1/4 adapters and use the actual channels. You can do more then.

Audiphile 24/96 I presume

1. make sure Analog 1/2 are used
2. check mixer to see if fader on 2trk in is up
3. route 2trk out (from mixer) into the in of AP24/96
whatever software your using, open that up, check "HARDWARE'
it should say "APhile" as the card to read
