i just had a couple of questions...i was upgrading my equip and wanted to get some feedback to see if the changes were worth making??

1. would it make a big difference in upgrading from the mpc2000xl to the mpc3000. just wanted to get some pros/cons of each.

2. i was interested in a sound module and was debating between the xv3080 or xv5050

3. i have the planet phatt and was looking into selling it and getting the mo phatt

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreiated.

thanks,

Man, you should chill for sure on the Roland modules until later this month. Roland just came out with the XV2020, a small module with sounds from the 5050, 5080, and Fantom. It's not on sale yet, but it's probably gonna be around $500.00.

What about the MPC 4000??????????

2000XL TO 3000 NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE AT ALL, ((THINKING)) WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, IT'S STILL JUST A DRUM MACHINE NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT

DEPENDING ON YOUR BUDGET THE 3080 HAS A LOT OF OPTIONS TO USE TOWARD FUTURE UPGRADES (PLUS THERE ARE PATCHES)
BUT A TRITON OR TRINITY RACK WOULD BE BETTER

PLANET PHATT TO THE MO' PHATT -- DONT EVEN DO THAT TO YA SELF --- I DONT KNOW WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC YOU DO -- FOR CLUB MUSIC IT'S GOOD, FOR HIP HOP/R&B ONLY FILLERS - LIKE WIERD SOUNDS AND AUGMENTED SAMPLES.

BEST BET, MASTER WHAT YOU HAVE - NO AMOUNT OF PURCHASING GEAR WILL MAKE ANYTHING BETTER IF YOU DONT KNOW THE PIECES THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE... THINK ABOUT IT

thanks for the suggestions, sorry it took so long for me to reply just got back in town.

the equipment i have already

1. trinity rack
2. mpc2000xl
3. planet phatt
4. oberheim matrix 6r
5. fatar studiologic 61-key midi controller
6. delta 66 soundcard
7. compaq PIII computer

i knew someone who had the 1010 so i was even thinking about going with the 2020.

as far as sound modules still havnet decided what im going 2 go with so far

guess i will keep the planet phatt instead of going with the mo phatt

appreciate feedback given

thanks,

Dog you already got a Trinity rack and the MPC. I doubt that you need more sounds. The Trinity's can be programmed. I suggest you search the web for more sounds for you Trinity and take the extra loot and beef up you recording section. Maybe a dope preamp and mic or something. Maybe even a better sound card. You got the full memory and a zip drive for you MPC right? Take it from a cat that's got tons of equipment. Use what you got to it's fullest. Peace doc.

Look here for sounds for the Trinity http://synthzone.com/korg.htmbb
. I have a older Korg board and i managed to find about 3000 free sounds for my joint. I'm thinking it's probably about 10,000 for a Trinity and 40,000 for a Triton. Some cats never even bother to change the factory sounds so the old sounds just get played. Change em out and it'll give it a new life.

yeah i have full memory (32) for mpc and a zip drive. the link didnt work so which trinity page is it on the synth site.

holla
