Laptops just don't have the upgrade capabilities that a good desktop system has. I build my own PCs and find it much easier and cheaper to upgrade a single component in my tower than to buy a whole new laptop. I started recording on a Laptop, but when I outgrew it I could not afford to upgrade to a better one, so I switched to a desktop system and have never regretted it.
