Upgrading Audio Interface (Can't decide which one)

someone explain this though....Firewire is only 400 mbs and usb 2.0 is 480. I haven't seen any DAW using firewire 800 yet, though I could be wrong.

so technically usb is slightly faster, but perhaps the usb buss might get slowed down "usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb midi controller" however....what is the latency between usb, chipset and external hard disk...

in reality, i think both are fine.

So to clarify a bit - USB 2.0 has a max burst speed of 480Mbps but usually runs much slower. Firewire on the other hand runs consistently close to its max speed. In practice, Firewire has significantly more bandwidth than USB.

The original Saffire and Saffire LE are both BeBoB, and should be fine, as is the Saffire Pro 26.

Okay cool! The more I read about them the more interested I am getting.

I found these videos on youtube that give you a good look at the software control panel it has. https://www.youtube.com/profile?user=GentooP&view=videos

Looks pretty nice compared to some of the other software control pannels I have seen on other interfaces.

Although another side of me is saying go for a DICEII interface because I hear nothing but good things from the people that have it working with no problems. Stuff like lower latency and other added technology. However for the people that are haveing problems sound like they are really having bad problems.
