jeberson,
I disagree with these guys on just about everything here.
Changing the pickup on a cheap guitar will change the sound. period.
Do I think you should do it? probably not.
Your yahama is not a bad guitar. I have owned worse. and much better.
you do not need a nice guitar to play punk rock.
you will, however, need an amp, if you ever want to play in a band.
but I think you are asking about recording.
the sound you are getting should be fine. what don't you like about it? have you toyed with all of the different options already available to you?
if you have a mic and a preamp into your computer already (is that what you are using to record?), I would recommend buying an amp. since you dont have much cash, I would go with the reaaally small park practice amp. parks are made by marshall.
but again, what are you recording exactly? what don't you like about the sound you are getting?
hi guys thanks for the advice
I'' start sharing what did for the past days.
Ive been recording since last week so that I can practice mixing a punk rock like music. i was trying to imitate the kind of mix that sugarcult had, but i cant because i dont know, maybe my guitar, my effect gig, cab or my mixing ability. I had a lot of doing experiments in my mix to get the sound i like (grungy, punchy distortion) and i hope ill know this to avoid buying another pocket bankruptcy gig.
I just finish my practiced music today
And good news, its just my mixing ability and my virtual amp/cab software. I switch from a crappy
NI guitar Rig to very cool Amplitube that just arrived this morning from ebay.com(i got it cheap

). I dont need to buy a new pickup or whatever so called solid bodied git. So i have the link below with my short practiced music. I still used my Yamaha RGS121 , BOSS GT-3 Effect PRocessor directly to my compputer using Amplitube Virtual CAB and AMP. I hope you like the mix.

i would like you to ask if hows my distortion on my mix sounds, is it fender or gibson like quality? can you really tell if it came from a cheap yamaha guitar?
if yes, you guys are right, il start saving money for a fenda, if not, thank me, sell your gibby, fenda git plus your marshall amp, gain profit and buy a squier rat and virtual cab software and have a fender like mix.
thanks for the advice hope you like the mix
