I'm not sure whether to get a pro-level bundle of plug-ins (i.e. Waves Gold Bundle) or simply upgrade my pre-amp, or both. Currently using an Mbox, TLM 103, G5...and doing voice-overs, narration, etc. Any combo recommendations?

My knee-jerk reaction is to go for a better preamp. For voice work you've got most of the tools you might want with pro tools except a decent reverb. The pres on the Mbox are good, but something like an RNMP from FMR Audio is a considerable step up. I'm quite sold on mine.

Do you have the EQ III and Dynamics III plugs from Digi, yet? They're free and work really well. Since those are availible to Pro Tools users now I'm not sure what the Gold Bunlde would offer voice work that you don't already have.

Take care,
Chris

My bum-knee reaction would be the preamp also. Godd core sounds = very little processing neccessary.

Although, I think everyone should have a UAD rig...

Re:

Would the RNP be better than the Mbox pres? What about the Grace 101 preamp?

Almost *any* pre (IMHO) will be better than the M-Box pre. RNP, Grace, both fine units to go with and good "bang-for-the-buck" factors also.
