Run the Delta Uninstaller program that should have been included with the drivers. If it was not included, go to the M-Audio web site and download the uninstaller program. Once you have uninstalled the current drivers, reboot the computer.
Windows should "find new hardware" when it reboots. At that point, put the floppy with the new drivers into your floppy drive, and simply follow the onscreen instructions.
M-Audio requires that you first completely remove the old drivers.
Productuno, you should be OK with a CD-R. In fact, you could just extract the files to a folder on your hard drive. But when Windows goes to look for the drivers, you will have to point it to that folder. It's easiest with a floppy, but not a deal breaker if you don't have one.

yes, you can do it from the hard drive...i keep a folder with the latest driver on hard drive in case i ever have to re-install.....like said before, ALWAYS uninstall the old driver first....during the re-install, just point it to that folder with the drivers......
Why do you think that XP has an "Update Driver" button? When you press it XP searches for a newer driver and if it finds one it replaces the old with the new automatically. You only need to do it the hard way if XP doesn't recognize the new driver .

but M-Audio suggests un-installing the old one first......of course it will work that way......Ive done it before i knew (who reads instructions )....but with drivers, i take the fewest possible chances......
