hi folks

just started(a coupla days ago) using pro tools LE/MbOX 2 on a pc

ive recorded a coupla things already using drum loops
that im pretty happy with
in my ongoing mission to gather as many drum loops as possible,
i got a bunch of cds burned by a friend for me of various stuff
and downloaded some free stuff too

the short question here is,,
why wont some normal wav drum loop/sample play ?

it simply claims that the"wav is unreadable by pro tools"
i cant convert,,or do anything with them
its very frustarting,
and i wondered if theres anything i can do to get them goin?

thanks in advance for any help or advice:cool:

That's a strange one!

They're not named something silly are they? Have you tried converting them to wav's anyways, just to make sure there isn't some strange encoding?

You could do that real easily using iTunes or something similar..

if nothing gives, try these other places:

Digidesign User Converence
ProTools Forum

The first is run by Digi and has guys from customer service on it.
The later is run by a guy from this forum i think? Can't remember the username (bennychico? i think..) but i'm sure he'll chip in here..

Good luck :)

hi
thanks for the reply
no,,not at all,,just wav files !
i know that Pro Tools doesnt like anything to be more than 11 characters,
for some strange reason,,
but i dunno whats goin on!
i am brand new to all of this,
but i cant see that im dping anything apart from trying to open ordinary wav files

LA Drums wav files work fine,,so its odd

aye,,i posted the same question on Bennychicos Pro tools site too mate;-)
im just gonnae look and see if i got any advice on there;)
