Hey guys, I'm about to get one of those units to my set up (Tascam 2524, Meek VC6, Digi 001 + Korg 880).
I love the sound of the Meeks but I don't know a lot about the DBX or the ART.
So if you guys could help me with this one :). Maybe some of you have already tested each one of those units and can give me your comments.
One more his is the Meek goes for around $950 w/ the digital out and does not have wordclock ins or outs. This is very important 'cause I'm also getting a Lucid Genx6. Thanks for your help!!!!

I use a Mindprint DI-Port with my 001. It's straightforward, simple and clean. Craps on the ART for quality and is about the same price. ($500 Australian)

I don't have experience with the other clean pres, but I second Mark in that I've got a DI Port and am really liking it. Maybe demo one if you can? I hear they're discontinued stock, though. They only record up to 48KHz, but if you're using Digi 001/Pro Tools that's not an issue.

hey mark: I know the DI has SPDIF and optical outs ... can you use word clock with this? Jeronimo wants to use word clock.

I have a couple that I'm pretty fond of. A DBX 386 and an Envoice Mindprint except the Envoice is a mono unit.

Another vote for D.I. Port.

It doesn't have clock in/out, though. I believe the dbx is the only one that does, out of the ones you mention. The dbx is also a pretty nice little preamp with good a/d, albeit somewhat overpriced.

That looks like a pretty nice one.

My guess is that it would be a souped-up version of the d.i. port . . . capable of up to 96k sampling rate and wordclock input.

I would definitely look in to this. IF it has the same preamps and a/d converters as the d.i. port, then this one will definitely be a winner.

I'm shopping for a unit like this in future but I'm hopeing that prices would go down a little bit more.

I Think also that AN/DI PRO should be a kick ass unit, but I want to hear user comments. No all you guys with loads of cash go and buy this one, tell me and this forum what do you think about it and then... buy me one too :D

I would just call or email the company and find out if it has the same pres and converters as the d.i. port.

If so, then yes, it deserves the thumbs up for sure.

Pricey? Hell, I got my d.i. port for $200, and I believe the ARTs are selling for a similar price. Dude, no offense, but you really must be cheap. :)

I'm a student.:D from Finland ( you know the place where you quite like to be :D )

but I was talking about the AN/DI PRO and DBX 386 which cost about 750 euros here (which is about 750$)

I'll keep the di-port in my mind...but I think I'll wait for few months and look where the things are heading.

That was almost beautiful... We thank you very many:D

At that price I would go with a Soundcraft M4. 4 pres and SPDIF.

Yes I was thinking that but I think the spdif in M-series is only 16/44.1 and I don't want to get stuck to that. But I've heard that it is a great board I would love to have one M8 in my homestudio. Maybe one day?
