Hi Folks,

Looking to correctly hook up the Uniden BC125AT Headphone OUT 4mW nominal 32ohm signal directly into Stereo Microphone IN on Panasonic Camcorder MIC input:j
70 dBV (Mic sensitivity 50 dB equivalent, 0 dB=1 V/Pa, 1 kHz.

Mono and Stereo Adapters aside, I will be using a Stereo splitter cable to feed an external mic one one channel, and the Uniden on the other channel.

Also looking forward for the other Uniden on hand to be recording to an:

Tascam DR-40 Line Inputs:

EXT IN switch set to LINE
Input impedance: 10 kΩ or more
Nominal input level: +4 dBu
Maximum input level: +20 dBu

This will be for the upcoming Airshow Season.

Many thanks and Regards.

Brian.

Did you have a question?

You should test your setups. Unicom freqs at the local airports should work out. Or you could even test using ATC freqs if they are audible from home.

On thing about the camcorder is that it might have automatic gain control which will turn up the mic input volume when there's no signal then will have to drive it back down again. There might be a setting for steady gain - but that's something to check. It'll have a big effect on the quality of the audio recorded in the camera.
