I left a review elsewhere man...sorry. Now go find it.... :p

Hey Captain Sparrow, cool voice and beat. The mixing/eqing on Vox doen't seem to fit right to me though... they seem to stick out of the mix.
Maybe a bit more power or bite on the rhythm guitar too.
Cool groove to this song. The outro synth is funky too, cool track

Thanx to both of you for the comments, Dogman-I saw your reply on the rep point thread. I need to tame the vocal down a bit, and add some bite to the guitar for sure.

You might just try a bit more compression on the vox....they seem good, just have a bit too much dynamics.

Hey Anfontan - I remember this song now.....

Had a listen to the original mix for comparison. The second mix has a better overall sound. More bottom end and nicer tone on the vocal sound. New Mic?

The drums are way clearer on this remix, with more punch and kick drum sounds really nice. They seem to be coming a bit more out of the left side, just a tad - maybe it's my ears though.... ;)

Nice guitar sounds - excellent riffing on the solo.....

Keyboards are backing up really nicely too - really fills out the song.

The keyboard solo is a better (lower) level than first version. Not really keen on the keyboard patch though - just personal taste though - I love B3 Hammond for solos lol.......

Bass is there but could use some more definition (maybe highs?). Is it keyboard bass?

Overall a really good remix of a grrrrrreaat tune.....

:D :) :D :) :D

Hey Tony...I have been listening for quite a while now, to both mixes. I have to take an ear break and then have another listen. Other than some panning and some eq'ing issues, I am leaning towards your first mix. I know, I know....the guys will think I am nutty. :D Back in a bit.

Hey all, I have a remix of my song "Under your Influence" on my soundclick site, the original is also there for a comparison. So, give it a listen when you can and tear it apart as best as you can.

Hey Tony,

I left a review in the Rep Thread, basically I think the vocals are a tad up front too much.
I like the tone you have on the lead guitar and the solo is very fitting and well tailored to the tune!
I don't know if it is on my end but are the drums panned to the left/off centre????...I am listening on my work PC speakers again so it could be my end!!

What guitar are you using for the lead here Tony, is it the forest dwelling Tele???

Nice work Tony!!
Gorty..... :) :)

Hi Tony,

I love the lyrics.

I hope you are singing about your wife and not the dood in the pic. :D

The second mix, seems to have everything too compressed...too tamed. (except the keys) The taming of those sound really good. They add a different flavour to the tune.

As for the drums, the second mix is best to my ears too. They sound very good, but coming out of the left only.

I love the tones on your guitars. That is why I like the guitars in the first mix best. It lets them shine more. An itty bitty bit of compression, so as not to rob of the dynamics perhaps? The solo at 1:19 is great!!!

The first mix, also brings out the emotion in your voice. Just an itty bitty tad too much on the reverb. Who ever would've thought, I would have spoken those words?!

So I guess what I am saying, is I am torn between the two mixes. :D

I am sure, I have wrought confusion in the way I worded this!!!

It is a great song Tony. :) :) :)

Thanx for the listen True, actually the song is written in a 3rd person situation, someone I have worked with for 10 years or more has been with a partner that really took advantage of them to the extreme.
So to me the Diablo looking character symbolized the partner, really pure poison to the co-worker-but they are "locked in their spell" as the lyric goes.

The story with the first mix is that it was mixed down to cassette, then transfered to a CD and the speed and pitch of it raised. The remix is from the Fostex 4 tracker from the original recordings, so to me the first mix is not proper, it's a misleading mixdown.

The guitar is the same "Frankenstrat" assembled from several other "victims" that I used on several other songs on the soundclick site. It is usually my guitar of choice for gigging because its so versatile. I will try to post a picture of it soon.

Thanks for all the comments ido, I have gotten other questions about the drums, I think I must have a faulty patch cable in my mix down chain, I will start checking continuity and find & repair the trouble.

The bass is indeed a keyboard bass sound, on an SQ80 sequencer circa 1985 or so. Its a limited keyboard but the sequencing is so easy on it-and the solo is on a Korg Poly-61-even older yet! I need to try for some reprogramming of the bass sound and doing some panning in the next mix and see about a keyboard solo that at least sounds a bit closer to the new Millenium~LOL!

hi, I really didn't like the drums on this song, they really stick out as being a drum machine where as the rest of it sounds kinda real and it makes for a bad contrast. I'd go for sampled drum loops if at all possible.

I agree with the others about the vox, could go back a touch, maybe compress and touch of reverb.

Good work though.
