And they still work just as well as the day you bought them, and they still will work just as well next January. What's the problem?
If the UAD-2 stuff is that much better, then they're worth more money. If they're not really that much better, then they're not worth upgrading to the new system and you're just fine with the series 1 stuff. No harm, no foul.
As far as UA not *warning* about UAD-2 coming out, just what do you guys expect? Do you honestly expect them to say, "OK, guys, we have a new model coming out in a couple of months. Stop buying our current product line now, cut off our income revenue, and let our products rot in dealer and warehouse inventories."
Really? Or do you expect them to continue selling a product that, frankly, you were perfectly happy with until 24 hours ago, when just the fact that you read some words made you guys suddenly not like your product any more? And then offer a free cross-grade path (important to notice that even THEY are not calling it an upgrade) for a few months to appease folks in your position? That's exactly what they are doing.
Wait for them to sell out UAD-1 inventories, and for their early-adopter custys to have their UAD-2s. Probably then you'll see new UAD-1-to-2 crossgrade offers reappear.
Now, if only I can get GM to give me a new '09 Impala because I made the mistake of buying the '08 before the '09 came out....
