People talk about how great the filters are in the UAD-1 Cambridge. What are the filters? I get the impression they have something to do with the bell curves ... is this correct?

They provide very sharp cuts instead of rounding over shelfs like a lot of parametrics. This makes it more of a precision tool in my experience.
