I've been using a UA-25EX as an interface to connect my laptop to my Shure SM58 microphone to record vocals for around a month. It's been working great until recently when I relocated the studio downstairs.
The problem I have now is that it seems to be generating some kind of "white noise" or hissing sound on its own that increases as I raise the sensitivity knob. It also is greatly enhanced whenever I attach the microphone cable to the device regardless of whether a microphone is attached or not.
It was working fine until I moved downstairs so I have no idea what the problem would be. There is a breaker in the corner of the room about 10 feet from the device, so I am not sure if that would be the problem via some kind of grounding or electrical interference or if it's something else entirely.
Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
