Alright cool. Thanks for all your help. Reply other equiptment if you think of anything better..

Wait what is acoustic treatment? Is that needed? If so, where do we get it? Is it the foam stuff on walls?

Acoustic treatment is to make the room better for mixing and recording, because of standing waves etc, read in the studio build forum. That foam is an option but is nowhere near as good as rigid fiberglass which is actually cheaper

Alright, i'll go read about that. What does it look like? Can you see it?

The worst frequencies for screwing up your recording are bass, that is why i suggested bass traps, another good thing to do is to cover the wall behind where you mix in absorbers(rigid fiberglass) as well as having bass traps in the corners of the room. Ohh almost forgot something vital for recording. Monitors(speakers)!!!

It is just like loft isulation but compressed a lot more. Ask about it in building forum here Also read here and here in all the topics, ie size & shape, absorbtion, etc

The only downside to rigid fiberglass is the fibers that it lets out into the air/the itchyness. But when installing into the wooden frame use gloves a mask, and coverthe frame in cloth.

pluging guitar and bass straight in means you dont need 1 of the sm 57 and 52s, which cuts it by $174. This means you only need 2 stands, so that cuts them by $95.76. Keep the cables, not too expensive anyway. That cuts the $1450 by 269.76 to $1180.24 which will leave u $20 extra for acoustic treatment if it's more than i estimated.

Argh, so we will need to save a bit more money. All 3 of us are doing a bunch of stuff to get money. I hope this wont take to long to get..

Asked here about the bass traps for you. Lol feels wierd calling u a kid, I'm just 17(almost 18)myself.

To get money we are shoveling, babysitting, and doing chores. Ehh, im to young to teach drums I think. I've only been playing 2 years myself, and I fiddle on guitar too.

I think I'm too young also, but i do it. I've been playing for 4 years though. All you need to teach is the basics. Just to get people started. That's all i do. What style of music do you play?

Well our band plays funk, jam band, jazz, soft rock stuff. How bout you?

My band plays ceilidh/metal, scottish and irish fiddle tunes with metal.

10/10 for effore Panda, but are you really gonna mix on those little LX4s? Logitech actualy have a better sounding sattelite & sub computer speaker setup that sounds way better at about one third of the price. I wouldn't try seriously mixing anything on less than a 6" cone with or without a sub

I'm getting them for the 5.1 surround. If you can offer anything better please do so before i waste my money.

Don't they have quite a good frequency response with the sub? frequency response (satellites and sub): 40Hz–20kHz; +1dB, -3dB
