In my case, you're right. Sorry. I was responding to this:
With an 8' ceiling and the rest of the situation you describe, that space is never going to be very good for recording.
...without realizing that the "rest of the situation" was the steel ceiling, etc....

Which is why I said this:
I don't agree that you'll never get a good sound with an 8 foot ceiling.

What is your point? I gave him the solution. Put some cheap ass 2" foam in the ceiling and if he spends enough time learning how to mic stuff up right, he can come up with some VERY usable recordings.

What's the old saying? A bad musician blames his gear. :)
