Tuning a bass

Is it a 4, 5, or 6-string? It looks fretless, which is an issue, also.

Just thought of a worse one.

Q Why does crazydoc's bass fish only like to play country songs?
A Because there's no danger of finding a strong HOOK in any of them :D

OK, I'll go quietly....

Smallstone, Big Muff, Electric Mistress!? These guys have a problem...
(Or is it me?)
Well, living in the comfort of the rock I crawled under in 1991, I have to honestly say that I personally have no idea what you are referring to... :o

Tuning a ukulele

Found this tidbit. I don't know if there is a such thing as a bass ukulele, I haven't found anything on that, but:

The tuning that we will use is the standard C Major 6th tuning. This is the most common tuning for ukulele in Hawai`i.. You will know it as the “my dog has fleas” tuning. While it is preferable to use a tuner or piano or tuning fork to tune the ukulele, it is not necessary to tune exactly to the concert pitch. You can just as easily tune the ukulele by ear, using the method outlined as follows.
Tune the C or 3rd string as low as will produce a good tone. Then place the finger directly behind the 4th fret of the 3rd string and tune the open 2nd string in unison (to make the same sound as the 3rd string). Then, place the finger directly behind the 5th fret of the 2nd string and tune the open 1st string to match the 2nd string. Then place the finger directly behind the 3rd fret of the second string and tune the open 4th string in unison.

If you are playing with a group you will have to tune with the others, and perhaps some day you will want to be tuned according to the “Concert A440” GCEA, but until then, tuning by ear is quite alright.

In order to play the music files that are on this site, you must tune to the proper pitch:

hmmm, I wonder why I didn't see that? Gotta try again.... :o

The only thing I could find was the Ashbory bass Uke. There's nothing I could find anywhere on it's tuning, but it would make sense to either tune it like standard bass, or tune it like a regular ukulele...

To get back on subject, I wonder how badly that Frequency Analyzer would screw up tuning? :p :D

I don't know... I know that I have been wanting one. I don't have any plugin that does anything like that.

Yeah, but I don't want it bad enough to pay for it. I was just adding to the thread as best I could. It's not a life crisis if I don't ever find out. The pics on the site made it look like just a smaller version of a bass, so I will assume it's tuned E A D G....

Pssssssssssss, I just heard a rumor............Oh sorry to slip into the conversation................about another bassplayer who apparently uses a 12 string bass as well. It is the bassplayer from Cheap Trick, just to create the ideal balance for all those necks Rick Nielsen uses.

One thing I am not sure about is, will he be in tune with the rest of the band?

Eddie

Will he be in tune with the rest of the band?

You mean, will the rest of the band be in tune with him?
