That's the Jupiter model. Probably my favorite bass design of all time. Hans Ritter is doing the most amazing basses available today, IMHO. Each one is an absolute work of art, as well as a functional bass. The Jupiter does have controls, by the way. But they're tucked away where you can't see them from the front, so as not to spoil the smooth lines. Yep, that one's a beauty.

edit: Oops. Sorry, it's "Jens Ritter," not Hans Ritter. My mistake. :o

The one Ibanks showed us is one I've never seen before. However, it's obvious that it's built on the Gibson G3/Grabber/Ripper body (which are very cool basses, by the way). I've got a Gibson G3 in a tobacco 'burst finish. My very first "professional grade bass."

That thing is pretty bad-ass. I wonder what it weighs, and if it's totally top heavy, and if Greenpeace protested over the amount of timber used. :D

Ibanks, given the title of this thread, perhaps you could tell us how that thing is tuned. I think I counted nine strings. I've never seen a nine string bass before, so I wouldn't have any idea. It looks like there are no doubled strings, though. So, I assume it would be like a seven string (F#, B, E, A, D, G, C) plus two more treble strings.

That is a photoshop nightmare. I thought it existed until I brought that pic up at talkbass. However, here's the real deal....

Is that 11 or 12 strings? It's hard to tell from the pic. Looks cool but probably waaaaay beyond my capabilities. Unless someone wants to give me one to learn on... ;)

I agree! I was browsing through his website, checking out the different models, and am blown away by the design alone. There is a really good interview with him here, his take on bolt-on vs. neck through design shocked me. Here's a pic-

Alright... Reading material!

Can someone help me get my computer into the bathroom?

Any opinions?

Power: 120 Watts @ 8 Ohms
Speaker: Custom Hartke 12 in. aluminum-cone driver
EQ: 3 Band

Or this?

3500 amplifier section with 350 watts of classic Hartke power at 4 ohms. 240 at 8 ohms.
