I just got a new computer with Windows 7, and I seem to be having some problems setting up a program to record on. Im trying to record direct from my guitar to my computers line in using Amplitube as an amp simulator while recording on Cubase. So far everything Ive tried sounds like shit or is delayed. My computer is new and fairly fast, so this shouldnt be happening
Anyone have any ideas?

You're a victim of latency. The sound card in your computer is not designed to process sound at the accuracy you need...so, you're going to have to invest in an audio interface.

Try out the ASIO4ALL drivers, I got my latency down to negligible levels with it.

Built-in soundcards have about 40cents worth of parts in them. They're made for beeps, boops and light gaming, not recording. Their poor drivers have lots of latency (delay) too. ASIO4all is a cute hack, but you REALLY need to get a decent ASIO soundcard.

#1 Rule of Recording: You MUST replace the built-in soundcard.

Here's a good guide and tested suggestions that WORK: http://www.tweakheadz.com/soundcards_for_the_home_studio.htm

(you'll want to bookmark and read through all of Tweak's Guide while you're there...)
