Its going to be a cover of "Good Time Bad Times" from Zeppelin I...my band just started covering it,and it helps me to kinda do a version on my own to get it down....I'm no bass player so the bass is kinda weak...no vocals on this yet either, but if I can make it sound pretty decent, maybe I will add em,or somebody else that can really sing :) !
Drums are the Zep set downloaded from session loops...didn't know they would be for this song but they sounded so much like it,I had to give it a try!

Its very nice
I would like to hear the version with the vocal if you end up doing that
as for recording and everything, there was nothing that catched my atenttion in terms of problems
Untill now, its going very well :)

Very cool man. The guitars have a little too much distortion but they still sound pretty good. I was waiting for the lead riffs in the outro but they never came. I do a decent Robert Plant so if I get some spare time I'll lay down a vocal track for you.

Haha, i can't really sing, but I'd love to give it a shot just for the fun of it :D
As far as the recording goes, excellent playing and sounds all around man, I like :D That'd be a fun cover to do. The little extra distortion gives it a little more modern feel too.

Dig it man. I wanna hear some vox. You, Ocnor...whomever...this baby needs some vox. Good job on the tune though, man. I like it.

SoundofMind - Thanks for checking out the tune....Man,the vocals on this...pretty tough...I may try doing a "Megadeth/Motorhead"type vocal on this as it's way beyond my ability...be cool if somebody else wants to take a stab at it. ;)

ocnor - I used a Line 6 variax for this,I had read that Jimmy Page used a Telecaster thru a supro amp for alot of Zeppelin I so tried to use that for my version...I did one guitar track with the Telecaster setting, and one using the Les Paul...My Pod XT live also has amp models for a supro and a early Marshall so I used those as well...I did add a bit more drive then the original..kinda going off memory for the song as I haven't heard it in a while.Kinda waiting for vocals before I do the solo's during the end...kinda want them to go with the singing. It would be real cool if you wanna take a stab at the vox!Just let me know and I can send you the tracks, or just use the mp3,cool either way! Thanks alot for the feedback,I appreciate it!

SnakeDog5050 - Hey Snake, whats up?I would love to hear you do some vox on this and give it that Snakedog sound!Fell free bro!

Dogman - Same goes for you Dogman, you have been on a roll latley posting some pretty cool stuff...I like your vocal style (I still listen to your version of Stone Free you did) so if you feel like laying some vocals down on this...feel free!

Excellent rendition! Great guitars and the drums really nail it. The only thing I would do is bring up the kick drums a bit. They seemed to get a bit lost from time to time.

Thanks man!I agree about the kick...the problem is that its a drumloop that is already mixed down so its hard to eq a specific piece of the drum kit. Thanks for checking it out!

I was thinking about getting a set of those loops myself. Did you get any of the other loop sets?

Sounds great man. Very faithful rendition. I like those drum sounds and the guitars are cool. Makes me wanna get the mic out!

That is one of the most awesome songs ever. I really like your rendition of it. It still has some of that Zeppelin vibe, but you made it your own, and almost sort of "modernized" it, what with the higher gain and stuff. Sounds good man!

I think a couple of the bass parts aren't what JPJ actually played. i.e. - the first bass fill after the first chorus. That is just my favorite part of the whole song. I only mention that because I play bass in my current band, and we cover that song too. :D

No worries though. I was being very nitpicky. Probably too much. :D :D Can't wait to hear the vox and outro solo!

Sounds really good. I'm a huge bonham fan, as well. Ive been trying to replicate his sound for quite some time now, as well. Mind if I drop a clip sooner or later of a non-looped drumtrack to your song? Just for fun...dont feel pressured to use it.

Ha, I missed that part. How you liking them? I love those things, I bought the whole collection over a year ago and haven't messed with anything else since... every song I've written in the past year is a combo of those (except Dogs in Outer Space... those were the Bonham samples) good stuff :D

Modern vibe to the guitars and bass - nothing wrong with that IMHO. The drums may not be Bonham but they work very well! The lead solos are fabulous! Haven't heard a better version of this played.....

Some vocals would be cool - looking forward to hearing that!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the replies!!I started a new thread with the versions of vocals oconor & snakedog did gor this tune.

ocnor - I also downloaded a set called "Bowie funk"..which sounds like its the drums for "Fame"..pretty cool, although I wasen;t really looking for drumtracks for paticular cover songs...they seem to work pretty well for the Zep one. Thanks again for doing the vocals ...great job!

Bulls Hit - Go for it man!!I tried to reply to your PM but it said your mailbox was full...you can email at the address in my profile if you need any files/tracks etc..Look forward to hearing it!

tourettes5139 - Thanks for the feedback...yeah I hear you on the bass.. play bass like a guitar player..very busy :p ..I kinda just did this tune on a whim after I had downloaded the loops and they seemed to fit so perfect...kinda coincedental my real band also just started to try and cover this one as well...I see in your sig your into jambands,so I was wondering if you dig Gov't MUle?We cover a few of theres as well...awesome band! Thanks again for the good vibes!

mjm620 - That would be real cool if you wanna do sum drums...just drop nme a pm or email and I can send you a drumless track with a click and just the guitars, bass and vocals...or whatever you want.Let me know!

Snakedog - You know I'm always digging your drum sounds on your tunes...finally broke down and downloaded a few of the loops...they are pretty cool nman...thanks again for the vocals, great job!

idol957 - Glad you dug it...check out the new thread with the vocals...I think you will dig them as well!

Theres a collection? I thought they were just floating around everywhere...

Great effort but the bass playing is not carrying song in some of those breaks. Need to bring that part up to speed and you will be there. And the vocal of course.

Yup..that bass :( ...I'm not a bass player , just doing it out of necessity for my own recordings...I tend to play bass like lead guitar...overly busy, with a pick, and clicky tone...I also didn't really listen to the original when I laid this down...kinda going off memory of having it burned into my brain over 1000's of listen's :) ...for me ,sometimes thats the best way to do covers, cause I try to put my own spin on them(especially the guitar),instead of playing them exactly like the original. It's just funner for me like that...Thanks for checking it out...some of the other forum dudes have laid down some really good vocal tracks that bring the song to life,so check em' out!

Variax...You have some kick butt licks there. As always great stuff.
