i just got finished recording a song on my computer for my girlfriend. after i mixed everything in cubase, i sent the wave through wavelab and got it sounding really good. the only problem is that the saved product sounds nothing like it sounded in wavelab. why is this? how can i fix it?

Could you be a bit more specific... How does it sound different? What do you mean by "the saved product?" Did you export the song to .mp3?

i saved the file as both an mp3 and a wave, the same thing still happens. I did a lot of stuff with the EQ and compression in wavelab, none of that seems to be observable in the saved song.

i also tried adding a more obvious effect. I added an echo in wavelabe and it doesnt even play in the mp3. it appears that for some reason, none of the effects are playing in the mp3, but they play just fine in wavelab.

Render it to a WAV file first, then convert it to an MP3.

I don't want to jump in like Captain Obvious, but do you know what you're doing with WaveLab? Have you read and understand the manual and all the basic functions?

You need to click the Render button at the bottom of the "FX Rack". Going to File -> Save will not apply the FX.

Yeah, It sounds like you need to take a look at the manual.

Danny is probably right...perhaps you are just saving the project and not rendering a new WAV file.

I'm not familiar with wavelab, but I cnow when i was a real newb in cubase i exported with a verry low bitrate which made evrything sound like junk, if possible, export using the highest quality settings possible.
