Hey guys. I have the M-Audio Quattro/Omni external sound card setup on my computer system, and use Cubase SX recording software. I'm having trouble recording in 24 bit/96 k format. I can record in 16 bit/48 k no problem...but when I change the sound card settings to 24 bit/96 (which is the quality I would prefer), or anything higher than 16 bit/48 k, basically...either an error message pops up in Cubase XS, or it doesn't record any sound at all. I've consulted the Cubase manual, and have done some tinkering of my own...but I can't seem to figure it out. Anyone have any ideas/tips to send my way? I'd greatly appreciate any help on this. I'm a singer/songwriter and recorded my first CD in the studio...however, I wanted the experience of learning how to engineer a project on my own this time around. Keep in mind I'm still somewhat new to this...so be easy on me, guys! Thanks for your time.

You should just breakdown and buy a copy. The pirated software is going to have you chasing problems for 6 months and you'll never accomplish anything but wasting your time. BTW what did the manual have you do?

Re:

Is that what it is? I don't have the original problem right now...I borrowed it from a friend...but even so, I was under the impression that it was just a copy of the original...not cracked. I might have to look into that, thanks. I'd rather just have the original anyway! Hopefully soon...$$$ :o)

Re:

Oh, and by the way, the manual wasn't very helpful at all...I just went around in circles until I figured out that what I was doing wasn't helping...lol.

Thanks again...have a good one.
