You may call me a noob or whatever but please help me out! So I've bought this really nice Interface called the Firestudio Project by Presonus. Being that it is an 8 input interface I was looking into doing some good recording. However, each time I've open up Reaper (free version) assigning the 3rd input and beyond has not produced any sound even though I can clearly hear myself through the speakers and can see the lights move. So what's the catch??
I have been thinking about buying the DAW so no lectures please! I don't have a mixer but I haven't forgotten to push the Phantom Power on for my condenser mic. Also my 1st input is far too fuzzy and I can hear the dust within it's volume knob each time I turn it. Should I try to clean that with some electronics cleaner?
