I'm trying to use the Triton and sequence in Elogic. I was using a Korg x5d and I would just run the midi out of my comps midi controller to the in of the x5d and the in of my comps controller to the out of my x5d. Then put the keyboard in multi mode and assign programs to different midi tracks. Can I do something similar w/ the Triton. I can't seem to figure it out. There isn't a multi mode on the triton like there is on the x5d. But the manual says it is multi timbral but doesn't give much info on how. Anyone else using the triton with a computer sequencer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

I don't have the Triton in front of me right now, but I'm sure that this works....Click on "Global" go to "Midi" tab, then make sure "Local Control" is unchecked. Then go to "Midi Clock" and set that to "External Midi"(if you want the midi clock to be controlled by the computer). And "Save" Now go back to "Sequencer" mode and that is the multitimbral mode, you can also use the Combination mode if you want, but stick with the sequencer until you fully understand. I believe ELogic is similar th Logic so Im sure you know that you have to click on the midi outout so it corresponds with the midi out that the triton is recieving it messages. You should try to look on the internet for a list of the sounds on the triton so you can easily choose the program names of the Triton you want with elogic instead of looking at bank and program numbers. Hopefully this help.

Thanks for the reply. I got this far yesterday. I don't fully understand how to pull in programs I want to use while in seq. mode. I've been just loading preset song templates and going off those program sounds. Its coming along though.

I'm wondering, how do I turn certain midi tracks off in sequence mode? Say I only want to use midi tracks 1-8 from the Triton and then use midi tracks 9-16 from the Mo-Phatt or other modules.

If you are using the triton as the sequencer...here is how you pull up the sounds you want(by the way, what type of triton are you working with? cause I'm only talking about the originals, not the le or the new "studio" version) In Seq mode, on the touch screen there is box that when you usually just turn on the triton with no loaded song it displayes "10 FastSyn" click on that box and you should get the list of sounds sorted by catergory. another way is that there is usually an hollow arrow with "A000" beside it, if you click that you will also get the list of sounds sorted by bank and program name.

for your other question:
While in seq. mode, click "menu" then "Track Paramters" on the bottom of the screen is a tab. the first tab is for Midi Ch 1-8, and the second is for Midi Ch 9-16. In your particular request, click the midi ch 1-9 tab. And you will see black right pointed arrows with int beside them. click on arrow on the midi channel you want and select ext.

Sorry if this is unclear, hopefully this help...Sounds like you got some nice gear, by the way if you have the triton why are you using elogic to sequence, besides when you are completing a song with vocals?

Thanks man. Your post made perfect sense. Yea thats how I've been switching sounds, I thought maybe different templates had different variations of the sounds in the banks.

I'm using elogic just cuz its what I've been using since 98 and I know it like the back of my hand. I currently have a Korg x5d, Roland jv1010, Akai s2000, and the Mo Phatt. I do my sequencing on an old mac comp using elogic then record audio in my pc w/ vegas and Wavelab. i sinc the 2 comps w/ midi clock. I just recently added the Triton. It seemed like over kill but I know its a great piece and a freind of mine was selling it for $1000(couldn't let it pass). it is the Original as you described in your post so everything you said worked. I planned on using it at home but right now i got it at the studio. Once it pays for itself I'll take it home and learn the sequencer.

Next I want to find out how to use arpeggio's w/ external sequencer. I gotta hit the manual up. You've been a great help, I appreciate it.

Another question

What is the purpose of the song template function? If you can pull the same sounds in seq mode w/ the pop/ballad template as the hiphop or whatever template?

As far as the arpeggio with an external sequencer here is what to do.
Make sure the Midi Clock is set to external, as I previously said in my first reply, then while in sequence mode, click "menu" then "arpeggiator" then under the specific track you want click the black arrow and choose between arp. 1 or 2. Also on the bottom of the page there is 5 tabs. By touching the 3rd or 4th one("Arpeggi. A", "Arpeggi. B") you can choose between the different arpeggio patterns.

As far as the song template, they are just there as presets, I believe you can make your own. Its just something, lets say, for instance if you had an idea for a Pop song, just choose the pop templete and they get give you some of the sounds in the triton they feel can suit a pop song, more or less they are nothing but scratch pads for a song you might have. I really never got into this function much though.
