Trition or Triton Rack???

Im plan to get a triton but i want to know if the triton and the triton rack have the same amount of sounds?Or does one hve more than the other?
 
they both have the same sounds...but

if you have a keyboard already get the triton rack if you dont get the triton...

do you have a sequencer or a sampler...if you dont have either one get the triton keyboard...


I have the trinity and an mpc2000xl and I love them both...I was going to get the triton rack but I already have most of the sounds from the triton so I'm going to get the proteus 2000 (sorry cant spell) with the mo phatt (when it comes out) sound card and the extreme lead?
 
I also have a mpc 2000 and I control with a yamaha djx keyboard.But I almost sure when I do get one its gonna be the rack I just dont like the djx keyboard.I asked because I was thinking about getting 88 key triton.
 
ok I was in the same boat as you I sacraficed (don't laugh now) my djx, a alesis qudrasynth, the korg electribes ea and er, and a sp202...I made alright music with those things, but I traded it all in for a trinity...so now I have a tight keyboard that does the job of all of those I traded in and now all my tracks are bumping...and everyone can tell the difference...if you get the triton keyboard sample all the sounds you like off your djx...and throw it away...there will be no more use for it... :)
 
sorry to jump in with no knowledge, but I have been wanting to add more sounds to my guitar tracks, and didn't really know exactly how to go about it. I'd like to sample and start using a programable drum machine along with any other sounds I can get. will the trinity accomplish all this for me, or is it better to have seperate machines for all this? could some one explain what it is that these machines can do? and maybe explain what sequencing is. please help the midi challenged. thanks
 
ok ally I'm going to try and answer your question (remember I said "try") ok I use My MPC2000xl for sequencing my drum tracks, I use it as a sampler also...the trinity will not sample...but it does have a sequencer (a weak one) to me the timming on it is not as tight as the mpc...sorry I'm not good at explaining stuff...if you want something that has an good senquencer and a sh*t load of sounds get the triton...
 
can I borrow another thousand dollars. so if I were to get get something like this it should be the triton huh. What a bout programs for the computer? are they any good.I'm fixin to look up the mpc since I'm not sure what it is. so I'm guessing that to have Midi sounds you have to link all of there timing toghether? I have a book on the way that hopefully will shed some light on all this, I hope I'm not getting in over my head. liike I said I'm just a dumb strumming guitar player, thats the simple stuff
 
I dont use my computer for midi sounds at all the only thing I use midi for is tracking...MTC...MIDI TIME CODE
I have the second midi outs and ins going to my computer from my mpc the computer software I'm using is Vegas Pro (but I use it for audio only and recording each track) as I said before sorry I cant explain how everything works...I'm a visual I have to see stuff and acually put it together and make it work
 
thanks alot dude, i'm slowly starting to understand. I went down to Sam Ashh just now and spent 3 hours discuussing it with the guy, It looks like the MPC2000 is the way I'll probably go, I've seen those things a million times and never thought to look twice, I didn't know how useful a tool a sampler could be. I appreciate the guidance.
 
If you already have a keyboard, definately get the Triton rack and use your other keyboard as a master controller.
 
what if you got a 200 casio. I can still hook it up with the triton rack. And get to use some of the dope sounds in cakewalk pro.
 
I would and am going to get the Triton keyboard, not the rack. I was playing with it at Guitar Center yesterday, they had to send someone to tell me to get off it after like 40 minutes! And I had made a hot track too!!! Luckily the dude gave me a disk and let me save my work.

Back to the point, I already have a Trinity but I like the feel of the Triton, and I'd rather have an arpeggiator on the actual keyboard instead of having to get up and adjust it on a rackmount unit.

Hows the Triton rack sampler? My next buy is gonna be a sampler and I figure I might as well get the Triton rack cuz Ill get both the Triton sounds and a sampler...should I do this or save money and buy just a sampler thats on the same level as the Triton's..

Have you considered Gigasampler? Or do you need a hardware sampler to do live stuff? If you need a sampler just for the studio and you have a reasonable computer, I'd highly recommend Gigasampler or Gigastudio (very inexpensive compared to hardware samplers, loading samples in less than 1 minute, creating programs in 4 minutes if you have wave samples, can read Akai S1000/3000 samples)

Well the main reason I want a sampler is to load sounds up on a disc from my computer and use them on the keyboard...Thats not the only thing I want it for but if you know any cheaper samplers that'll do that and are still pretty good lemme know..
 
Jamal, I STRONGLY disagree with your last post. There are other samplers of comparable quality. Yes Akai has a strong reputation, but Yamaha and Roland have recently released racks that would be more appealing than the s1000 or s2000.

Also I've come to the conclusion that the Ensoniq ASR-X is as good a tool as the MPC. I used to be a die-hard MPC supporter but now I use both.
