Trim pod

I have the tascam 2488mkII.when I bring the master slider or any chanel slider up to unity gain, I hear sound even with the trim pod at zero, no matter which input chanel I use, also the red OL lights before I even turn up the trim. Wondering if anybody can help.

What are you running into the channel..? Sounds like you are driving a really hot signal, overloading the channel pre-amp stage..
