When using triggers how do you prevent th OH mics from picking up the actuall sound of the kit??? wouldnt this sound really bad having the actual sound along with the triggered sound?

You don't. I never worry about it, because I always have the drums louder in the mix, and they are going to mask the regular drumsound.

i can tell you you want the real drum in the overhead, it will give the real feel, bleeding in overhead feels to me like a need. i tried with an edrum and it laked in realism compared to an triggered acoustic drum, unless you are a studio freak.
