Here is my dillema. I just purchased a Toshiba Laptop installed with Windows
XP Media Edition. I plan on using it primarily for Music applications and
for school. However, I tried installing my USB powered midi controller (m-Audio Triger Finger) & it
didn't work. I called the manufacturer & they currently don't support media
edition and don't know when they wil get it fixed. I even had a rep from M-audio try to install it on my laptop at the store & he said they were having a bunch of problems with Media edition. However, it does work in
XP Home/Pro. So I thought, ok I have to install Windowx XP home then. Is there any other work around? Does anybody know of one? I don't want to have to fork over $100 for XP when i already have media edition. Damn you Bill Gates!

Damn that sucks mate. I can't help you there. All I can say it that media edition has a horse load of stuff in there that you don't need at all. You probably got it with the laptop though, so I guess that doesn't help you much now ;)
