It worked this time. It sounds cool. I'm not real big on instrumentals though so got bored after the first minute or so. I listened to the whole thing anyway. There are some cool guitar riffs going on, but some of them are a bit choppy like that intro style thing where the lead sort of cuts off and stops for some reason lol.

It just sounds good. The only effect that was a bit unusual was at around 1.50 when the guitars went all dry. Very nice. What's the thing in Logic you mentioned?
Really nice sound on the guitars. Bass ditto, but maybe you could un-axe some of the frequency you cut on it? It's low enough and it has enough lovely snarl, but it sort of lacks body, for lack of a better word.

Nah, it was just that drummer thing that they put into Logic X. It's like a sampler such as Superior Drummer but it works differently. Sounds a lot more real.

This sounds really cool! I'm a drum noob but they sound kinda cool. Reminds me of when I briefly listened to Megadeth.
Guitar playing is really cool - interesting, in the good way.
Nothing sounds massively out of place to me, although the clean lead break might be a touch loud?
Probably personal taste more than anything there.

Really cool man. I like it because it sounds like a lot of jamming and not just a guitar solo over background music. Drums sound good to my ears and the system I am listening on. Cool song.

yeah, I did the guitars and bass (and keys). The drums were from the program. It's definitely something that every home studio person should look into. At the end of the day, it's just a MIDI sample triggering program but... I honestly couldn't explain why it sounds so much better than other samplers.
The song isn't actually finished yet. I DI-ed all the signals at home last night in a hurry to have something to play around with in Logic today. I'm going to move some stuff around re-record the guitars with new strings and get back here eventually.

I couldn't help listen for the flat G string simply because you mentioned it. I thought you hid it well when playing riffs or lead as you probably bent it ever so slightly, but I think when some chords rang out it sounded slightly sour.
Anyway, tons of crazy riffs in this one. It was fun. A bit schizophrenic, but in a good way. If you mess around with this and re-track some stuff I hope you post it as I'd be interested to hear.

Good Song. I really like the sound of the kick and snare. Guitars sound good to me. My personal preference would be to add a hair of mids to it overall. Just to give it some punch. But i'm pretty new at this !

Real tight playing. Great energy. Drums sound good. Are they real? My only drum complaint is the kick has a bit of that "bouncy rubber ball" sound to it. I'd like a bit more woof myself.
Guitar playing is real good. Tone is pretty good. I thought all guitars had just a bit of mid-rangey-ness to them. Just a hint of scrathiness.
Bass sound was cool. Playing was too.

I'm gonna write and record another one of these types of songs and see if I can get some better tones on the drums and guitars.
edit: and no, the drums are not real. Logic X has this drum machine that is a lot more convincing than other programs though. I created this track in about a half hour. I'm sure I could make them even more convincing if I practiced some more.

Gave ya a listen since you've been kind enough to do the same for me a few times now. Personally, I'd like to hear the palm muted guitars with a little more...umph? It sounds (to me) that many of the drum parts, excluding cymbals, are dead center. Might just be how I'm perceiving it, but I prefer a wider sound, especially to the drums. The tune definitely keeps your attention, with all the changing sections. Real creative playing and composition, nice job!

I definitely EQed out the low end on the guitars to give the bass some room. I was debating what I liked better but then I went for that '70s metal sound that is a bit lo-fi.

Yeah, the new version is much tighter, and heavier sounding overall I think.
I like the more distorted tones on this one. The cleaner tone wasn't my favorite, but the playing there was nice with good use of sustain. Some of the jazzier bits (particularly in yesterday's version, but also this one) actually remind me of phish a little, but not the heavier sections so much - not sure what they remind me of...pretty unique actually. I'm sure that wasn't what you were going for, but I mean that as a compliment.
