This post could get really long but I'll try to stay
specific...

Basically, I need to send a FET balanced ouput
from a mic pre into a Tascam 22-2 (of decent/
questionable quality) via the rca line inputs...

The mic pre has TERRIBLE hum and hiss when not
balanced on input, but is perfectly silent when
connected to a balanced input, SO, I'm thinking
about building a transformer impedance/isolator
box to connect the two. Looking at RADIAL DI
boxes, I was pretty impressed with the specs
(but not the right connections), and was going to
try some Jensens at EITHER 600:600 or 10k:150...

I'm pretty sure the inputs on the 22-2 are 10k.

Questions:
Has anyone done anything like this?
Is it very hard to set this up (additional resistors,
caps, etc) or pretty much insert transfo into singal
path?
Which transfo ratio would be best (the pres output
is 200-ish)??
Any ideas?

Thanks for any answers/comments.
