One Hit Wonder
Yes I hear a difference in sound quality. However, I am not sure I agree with the prevailing opinion that it sounds "better." It definately sounds "different." Whether that difference will translate into better mixes still remains to be seen, as I don't have enough hours logged and haven't done any mixdowns yet.acidrock said:So how's it going with"3"?
Have you heard a difference in the sound quality?
Have you checked out the Pantheon reverb?
Yes I'ver also checked out the Pantheon reverb. So far I'm unimpressed. It may find a use in my arsenal, but probably no more than the Anwida reverb I have that was free. I'm pretty much locked into the Waves Truverb and RVerb for most of my needs. I occasionally use Cakewalk's FxReverb, but only when I need to automate a parameter. (Come to think of it, is the Pantheon automatable?)
As I've said previously, I bought S3 for the Bus flexibility, and I am pretty much pleased with that. The fact that I got a VST adapter was a nice added bonus.
I kinda also like the new look, however, it does eat up a lot of screen real estate. Haven't yet figured out whether I have any need for the "highlighted" track channel strip that appears to the Left in Track View. I know I can hide it, but so far I'm leaving it there to see if I can actually use it for anything meaningful.
Same thing with the vertical meters. Nice to have a choice, but vertical just chews up too much space for my taste. Particularly using two monitors, I have a lot of horizontal room now, but no extra vertical room. Hmmm... maybe I should stack the monitors.
