I'm looking to buy and M35 mixer or (if possible) am willing to trade an M308 for one. I'm not a 100% sure about doing it this way, through the internet It might or might not work out, but if anyone thinks they might be interested let me know. Thanks

M35

Well I have an M35 I just started a thread about it too. My 35 has a few problems that occured during shipping. One of the busses is not working so I was gonna have it serviced as well as cleaned cause of some dusty pots but I am interested in trade (I could use some other gear or give you the 35 and some cash for something else)or sale. Let me know. I also have some snakes and the org. manual w schematics. This could be a match. Keep in touch I'll be honest and money back the entire deal.

I have a 35 but I am not interested in trading. I am wondering why you would want to get rid of a m308 for a 35 though.

Myparents I'm going to think about your offer. Where are you located. ... ......

I used to have an M35 and really like the results I got from it. I like the EQs section on it ALOT and have saved settings from it from when I used to own it. The 308 has more options on it but I was having a problem with the sound I was getting using the busses. They just weren't getting a good signal to tape. I discovered it was the busses just the other day when I plugged in a mic directly into a 3440 and got a huge sound. Which I think is how it should sound. Now I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the buss section on it and as Beck knows, I'm trying to get some tools to check the system out. I'm using the direct out now which work pretty good but I never had that type of problem with the M35. I guess I just have a fondness for the 35. I think it sounds better.

Herm what is your thought on how the two boards compare. I take it you like the 308 better?

I'm in Athens

ya know the problems you are having with the 308 sound a lot like the ones I am having here with the 35, the Direct outs are fine but something is up with the third buss.

Could be, but I'm still not sure there's anything technically wrong with the 308s busses or they just don't sound the way I think they should. It does have that intermitent problem though where I have to give a whack now and then to get it back. Not sure if I want to trade one problem for another. :( with the 35. I might just try and look locally.

Well to be honest, I have not used the busses on the 35 or my 312.
So I cant really make a call on their sound plus my hearing is very very bad so my opinion isnt worth much.
These days I am more of a collector. But I hope when I get moved I can do some more recording with my stuff.

Stevie,
Where are you in Mass? I live in Allston, and once in awhile something good pops up on Craigslist.org, just keep your eyes peeled.

Also check daddys.com daily, you might find something good for pretty cheap there. I bought my mixer (Tascam 2516) from Daddy's and it's worked out great. In addition, they have a warranty you can purchase that will fix your equipment should it break AND they'll give you a loaner in the meantime.

Thanks Maddog, I was actually in Daddys today in Salem, NH. That's where I got my 308 from. I walked in looking for one and there it was sitting on the counter! Someone had just brought it in! Talk about luck. I live right on the NH border in Lawrence. I used to live on Comm Ave in Allston for a short stint but that was a long time ago. I've checked Craigs and Massmusician & Daddies. Nothing yet but I'm keeping my lids peeled. There's also a place in Watertown that fixes up vintage boards. But, I'm not sure about them. He said he had a M35, talked a mile a minute on the phone and never returned my email about it.

The one bad thing about the M35, and thier may be a way around it, is there's only mono effects routing. For that it may be hard to mix on if I want to add effects later, but theres probably a way to work it.
